Today’s post is going to be super-short. DH has a birthday to day. I’ll spare you his age, but it’s firmly in middle-age. DH is not that excited. The three year old, however, is VERY EXCITED. He’s already planned out a day that involves making breakfast for his dad (we just ate – it took a long time), making a cake, lighting candles, and opening presents. At one point DS and I had this conversation.
DS: I want white cupcakes.
ME: Whose birthday is it?
DS: (Long pause.) Daddy’s.
ME: So who decides what kind of cupcakes we’re going to have?
DS: (Longer pause.) Daddy.
I’m glad to say he gets it, but this birthday is too exciting for him to miss. So I’m off to make merry.
