Do heartbreakers have to be men?
When Carrie Ann posted this hop, I knew my post would be a little different. My readers keep telling me that my heroines are difficult, hard-to-love, heartbreakers.
In my first book, Puppy Love, Sophie almost breaks the hero’s heart. She rejects him again and again, not because there’s anything wrong with him, but because she needs to heal her own heart first. My heroine, Holly in In the Nick of Time, is a heartbreaker as well. But she tries the hero, Nick, because she’s had her heart broken a few times and NEVER wants that to happen again. I think heartbreakers make great heroines, because it takes a really special man to see that there’s a woman worth loving under that hard shell. Do you like hard to love heroines? Please let me know if you like them, and if you have a moment one of your favorites in the comments below.
My current favorite heartbreaker heroine is Jane Morgan in Victoria Dahl’s Lead Me On.
If you like your heroines prickly, and your heroes unforgettable, I’d love for you to try Puppy Love where a couple of opposites meet saving a dog from certain death on the Hollywood Freeway.
Or try In the Nick of Time, where Holly has to decide if Mr. Right Now can ever become Mr. Right.
